Having studied dance and theatre for many years, I found the pressures around body image to be repressive and creatively crushing. I began choreographing and performing in burlesque and cabaret shows in Toronto, Canada in 2004 and haven't looked back since! Creative freedom, body positivity and skills with sequins and a glue gun that you never thought possible, are just a few of the life-changing benefits that burlesque brought to my life. After a hiatus in which I moved, had a baby and experienced a variety of life's ups and downs, I realised how much I missed burlesque and how passionately I wanted to bring that sense of self affirmation and fun to others! I started Leg Up Dance and Entertainment in 2019 and love teaching, and seeing my students building self - confidence and having fun. I also host events and provide entertainment for hen-do's , birthdays, girl's nights - any reason is a good reason to get glittery and  shimmy our cares away!
I am a qualified Exercise to Music L2 Instructor and fully Insured.
